It's been just over three years since audiences last saw HBO's steamy coming of age drama series,Euphoria. In the meantime, many of the show's breakout cast members have been hard at work cementing their transition into mainstream pop culture. Alongside prominent cast members Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney has similarly found success at the forefront of pop culture, as seen through her prominent appearances inThe White Lotus, Reality, Anyone but Youand Sony'sMadame Web. While most fans might be frustrated by the lengthy wait in between seasons one and two ofEuphoria, Sweeney has recently teased the exciting possibilities that lay ahead forEuphoria's future outing, pointedly calling Season 3 'unhinged' in a recent interview withEmpiremagazine. "I have such a spot in my heart for [Sweeney's character] Cassie, and I hold her really close and dear," the 27-year-old actress said. "She is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She's flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love. It could be a sad version of love, as well." "It's so much fun to play a character that is as crazy as she is," Sweeney continued. "Sam [Levinson] is such a brilliant filmmaker to work with, because I'll read something, then I'll call him, and I'm like, 'Let's gocrazier.' And he's like, 'I'm all in.' And this season isunhinged." As most fans of the show know by now,Euphoriahas routinely pushed the line in terms of its anarchic subject matter, delighting fans with its chaotic characters and equally messy episodic storylines. When asked if Season 3 will be even more unhinged than its preceding seasons, however, Sweeney pointedly said, "Yes," with a good-natured laugh. While an official return date has yet to be announced, the third season ofEuphoriais expected to arrive sometime next year.
