In a series characterized by what-if scenarios, perhaps the biggest hypothetical is wondering what aFantastic Fourfilm with David Tennant might have looked like. According toComicBookMovie, the 54-year-old actor behind such notable projects asDoctor Who, Good OmensandHarry Potterwas asked by a fan which superhero he'd like to portray in the MCU. Tennant -- who previously appeared as the shadowy villain Kilgrave in Netflix'sJessica Jonesseries -- responded with a fairly surprising answer, pointing toThe Fantastic Four's de facto leader, Reed Richards, as a character he'd been interested in playing. As hopeful as Tennant was about portraying the iconic, elastic-powered superhero, the formerDoctor Whostar also revealed he was more than happy the part went to Pedro Pascal, who's set to debut in July's upcoming release,The Fantastic Four: First Steps. "In terms of superheroes, I did slightly have my eye on Reed Richards and unfortunately, it looks like they've gone in a different direction," said Tennant. "Although if it has to be someone, I'm very happy for it to be Pedro Pascal." The Fantastic Four: First Stepswill arrive in theaters on July 25 this year. The film will star Pascal as the form-changing superhero Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) rounding out the rest of the team. Julia Garner will co-star as the extraterrestrial herald the Silver Surfer, with Ralph Ineson billed to play the team's villainous counterpart, Galactus. Meanwhile, Tennant himself is set to appear in the upcoming release, The Thursday Murder Club, based on Richard Osman's 2020 book of the same name.
